I just don't know what I'm buying. Here's another version of the same damn thing, 8-inch wheels, but 10 lbs lighter!! And with a white side-shroud instead of the black amazon.com version.

I appreciated your thoughts, and don't want to delete them. I've "unapproved" your response about names, thought sharing, etc. I'd love to just leave it posted, but if you truly want it deleted, I'd do that for ya.

I got a phone call today about this stuff. A person who does live in town and raised several children here. This person had strong feelings about this topic; current news brought up old feelings. It appears that there are several (many?) people who suffer pains and word never gets back to people who are supposed to care. Word never gets back to people who can do anything about it...or perhaps the people that could have, in the past, done something about it, did nothing. Either way, there are still tender wounds irritated by the recent event.

I strive to think about this stuff honestly but hope this can happen without increasing anybody else's pain.

Check out this piece:

http://peoplelikingpeople.blogspot.com/2011/11/high-school-football-coach-forced-to.html

They illustrated some of my thoughts better than I did:

"The strange thing about this whole story is that while he was forced to step down as head coach, he is allowed to continue his job as a guidance counselor at the school. Isn't that even worse than having him as a football coach? I mean you kind of expect coaches to be assholes, it sort of goes with the territory. But for a guidance counselor position you're going to want a higher standard of professionalism.

'You want to sign up for orchestra and art class?? What are you some kind of pussy??' "

How come you can't use a real name instead of "well then..."?

We're all grown ups here. You shouldn't be afraid. Hi!

I'll leave the comment for now. But I'll would love to have a real name before I include any more. Cheers!

I appreciate your posts on the issue and I agree the school board did show show some responsiveness to their employers by having the meeting; however, I find it laughable if the board deems their action an appropriate response to the issue thus far. The only action they have taken is hosting meetings and accepting Mr. Lynch's resignation. The board has done nothing to assure the public that Mr. Lynch is indeed capable of preforming his job - they haven't issued a formal statement or even explained how he will be "monitored".

It is no surprise the issue has snowballed into the national story it has. The school board has no one to blame but themselves for what some would consider unwanted attention to the situation. That is how this government thing works, you make a decision, if the constituents do not like you decision, the issue does not just go away -which is a good thing. I look forward to seeing what action the board does take as they are not in a position to do nothing the board must be held accountable.

Unfortunately, this is not the only example of Mr. Lynch's poor judgement. Calling his team "young and dumb"earlier in the season was not becoming of his character either (if you are looking for a copy of that statement the Buffalo Bulletin did have a voice recording of the comment earlier this year although with their opinion piece last week I would be interested to see if they still have a copy of it)

I do not agree with you that Mr. Lynch should be allowed to stay on in either position. I see you have written your wife is a teacher, well then you probably know how much she cares for her students and wants the best for them. Mr. Lynch has lost credibility even it is not with every student and the fact that he hasn't yet resigned from his councilor position speaks louder to his character than this specific issue.

They're pretty heavy. If I had hinges that were long on both sides I woulda used 'em. But I had these laying around. I think they'll last a year or two.
